Signed, Seal, Delivered, she’s yours 😍🦭

🦭This is an inquisitive female Cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus pusillus).
As with many animals, Cape fur seals display sexual dimorphism (which isn’t a kink 😜, but instead a term for females and males being obviously different in some way shape or form).
🏋🏼‍♀️🏋🏼 In this case females are smaller, typically weighing in around 90-120kg, whereas the males are considerably larger, pushing 300kg!

Fun fact: they’re imposters and not actually seals!🕵🏼‍♀️ Despite ‘seal’ being in the name, this species is actually more closely related to sea lions 🌊🦁. How can you tell? There’s 3 things to look for:
1. External ear structures (real seals have internal ear structures)👂🏼
2. Rotating hips that allow them to ‘walk’ on land so they don’t have to do the worm🪱 to move on land like true seals do
3. Fur seals are very noisy, seals although can be chatty aren’t quite so loud!🗣

🇿🇦🇦🇺Cape fur seals aren’t the only imposters about! Fur seals are a Southern Hemisphere species and can also be found in Australia. Individuals from the Australian subspecies (Arctocephalus pusillus doriferus) are a tad smaller than the African fur seals but I’m sure they’re just as cute 😍🦭

Anyone fancy seeing a REAL seal in the UK?... Hopefully I’ll get the chance to soon! 🦭🇬🇧

Diving on a rebreather in South Africa.
It’s not all about the deep dives. With the rebreather you can do longer reefdives and you can make closer contact with marinelife. In an area where you can encounter so many animals, it only gives you advantages!

Team waterproofinternational 🤿😃💪

This is my fourth dive trip to South Africa but my very first being warm underwater 🫶 I easily get cold when I’m diving and once I start to shiver it’s difficult to enjoy the beauty around me. All I can think about is a warm shower 🚿😄

To avoid that scenario I did it differently this time. I’ve been wearing W7, a 7mm wetsuit that is both comfortable, toasty and good looking 😍 I also added the hooded vest O1 that gives another 5mm of warmth 😏

The water temperature has been 21-22 Celsius which is very cold coming from the Philippines🌡️🥶😂

Thanks waterproofinternational for amazing products as always. We all enjoyed them and appreciated being warm and comfy on our blue adventure 🇿🇦💙

#stopfinning
